Elise

Last sunday i did a shoot with Elise. Sometimes you have somebody in front of your lens that just makes it easy to make beautiful photographs. Elise is just like that. Take a look and you’ll understand!
She never did this before but i am sure this will not be the last time!

Winterslaap (Hibernation)

And now for something completely different:
I was asked to take photographs of the dress-rehearsal of “Winterslaap”, a play by royal theater company Litterissacrum, directed by Rachel Levi.
Its a surreal story about a child, Jaap, living underground with its parents. Its parents are afraid of the outside world and do nothing but sleeping. They try to keep Jaap underground by keeping him/her small and not giving him/her any love but Jaap finds out there is a whole world to explore. He/she starts to look for the way out.

It was difficult because there was very little light to work with (the story is situated underground…). I had had to push the limits of my camera but it was great fun to do. Since it was a dress-rehearsal i was free to move around in between the action and come very close to the actors. This way i got a unique view of the play and it was a great experience.

A beautiful winter day with Helen

A Shoot with Helen in the dunes at Wassenaar.
After having to postpone the shoot for a week because of bad weather, we eventually were very lucky. It was a very beautiful winter day, with a beautiful model. Spending  a day (like this) outside, taking  pictures, isn’t all that bad! ;)

Expecting Life: Liesbeth & Jaap

In the last week of october i did a shoot with Liesbeth and Jaap. This was probably the last shoot with (just) the two of them because they are expecting an addition to their family very soon.

The next time they will be in front of my camera, it will be with a beautiful little baby! Can’t wait! :)

Ollie

Last saturday I had the opportunity to take pictures of Ollie and his family. This photo shoot was a gift from a close friend of theirs.
Ollie is a cheerfull and happy little boy but he is also suffering from a progressive Motor Neuron Disease.
I call my weblog Picture Life, because life fascinates me and I want to capture it, but taking pictures of Ollie also makes me realize how precious and vulnerable and unfair life can be.

Pre-Wedding Shoot at the beach

A small collection of photographs of the ‘pre-wedding shoot’ at the beach, just 5 minutes from where they live.
It was fun even though we didn’t have much time before it started raining (typical dutch summer weather). I love they way they are together; fun, happy, laughing and joking all the time!
I Can’t wait to capture their wedding later this month!!

A Norwegian Wedding

My uncle Otto and his Bente married this summer in Nessodden, a peninsula in the Oslofjord across the water from Oslo. It was great to see them and the rest of my Norwegian family again, and seeing how happy they are together. At the wedding there was a (great) photographer and i was there with my family as a guest, but i couldn’t help making a few pictures myself ;)

Thumbs up from their grandchild ♥

Thank you Bente and Otto for the wonderful day! I wish you all the best and hope to see you again soon.
